The Flexible Format Rewinder
A new generation of rewinders
For
over 35 years, Scantech has designed and built the electronic
control systems for every ArpecoTM
machine, including the TrackerTM
and Impressionist families. Now, they’ve joined with
the inventor of the Tracker web-flow format — as well
as the mechanical design team behind many of the recent breakthroughs
in the narrow-web field — to create a new generation
of rewinders.
Why a new rewinder concept?
Rewinders
available to the narrow-web industry have difficulty properly
handling today’s need for larger, softer and more accurately
wound rolls.

In
order to provide the structural rigidity a rewinder
needs to process those demands precisely, we designed
an enclosure, web transport and web guiding system that
are all interlocked and fully integrated to the machine
frame.

This superior stability
throughout the range of equipment results in better
web steering at all speeds, and more accurate slitting
and rewinding.

Machine
makers often currently configure their rewinders to a customer's
specifications by modifying old designs or affixing expensive,
unwieldy add-ons to a frame that can't handle them.

This
situation isn’t good for machine performance,
operators or maintenance — in some cases, it has meant
machine makers cannot even add some options to certain
models. It is essential to have a design that
anticipates a wide range of properly integrated options.
