Relative positions of inspection and rewinding sections
The Combitrack web flow has been configured
to maintain our most important design feature over the last
40 years — inspection and slitting/rewinding zones must
always be within eyesight of the operator!
Processing ergonomics
We’ve also provided an access zone in the
machine between rewind rolls and the inspection zone so that operators can easily access the rewind section in order
to do unloading, core reloading, lead-end taping etc.,
without straining their backs.
Ergonomic and effective unwind roll loading
The Combitrack design can incorporate a band
(or roll-wrapping sling) to distribute the roll lifting
pressure. This design provides three specific
advantages:
-
The
operator never has to remove, lift or handle the unwind
shaft. (Normally, the operator must take the shaft out
of the machine, remove the spent roll core, push the
shaft into the new roll, and then push the new roll into
the machine.)
-
The
unwind roll can be loaded from the normal operating
zone, not from one end of the machine. Therefore, the
total operating floor plan for Combitrack is smaller.
-
There is no need to put localized
pressure on the outside diameter of the new, large
unwind roll in order to load it. This is very important
when processing the less dense, less expensive
“cavitated” materials without locally breaking the air
pockets in the material.
